Upon completion of my two year studies as an Operating Department Practitioner, I was sent to Bukit Mertajam, Penang to serve my 3-year bond amounting to RM30,000 with a private hospital. It was a time of my “wilderness” as I was challenged mentally and spiritually when I was there.

Instead of being depressed and bitter, I chose to become the “thermostat instead of the thermometer” and set the “spiritual climate” around me through God’s strength, rather than letting the circumstances overwhelm me. As a result I managed to excel in my skills and shared the gospel with four non-believers during my time in Penang!

Then, after serving for 23 months, I felt the need to move on with my career and church life. So I met my general manager asking for her permission to release me from my bond. It was really a tough time as the management persuaded me to finish up my bond before leaving. I prayed to God for help and finally the general manager approved my appeal of reimbursing the balance of the bond. What favour!

When I prayed for the provision of the money to pay off the bond, God challenged me to sell off my car and I obeyed, knowing that my God will supply all of my needs. Soon after, I got a job offer during my first interview at Sunway Medical Centre, that included a doubled salary, good benefits and a promotion! Wow, indeed God is good all the time!
