A few months ago, I decided to sit for my International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. The universities that I wanted to apply to required a score of around 7.0 out of 9.0, with one university requiring an 8.0!

I went to register myself for the exam, paying a huge sum of money for the fees. The lady in charge told me that the best way to prepare for the exam was to buy a certain revision book. I was tempted to buy the book, which had a lot of information regarding the format of the exam and practice questions, but I knew that if I bought the book, I would be using the money I had set aside to fulfill my First Priority missions pledge for that month.

It was a tough choice but I knew that God would want me to put Him above anything else, so I trusted fully in God and fulfilled my missions pledge that very Sunday, instead of buying the book.

So, to study for the exam, I had to rely on outdated books in my college library. Two days before the exam, a friend called me up and told me he was finished with his book and asked me whether I wanted it. I collected it the next day, and with one day left, managed to do a few exercises in the book

I went into the exam hall on exam day with confidence that my future is in God’s hands. Two weeks later, I collected my exam results and by God’s grace, I had obtained a score of 8.5 out of 9.0! With this result, I had surpassed the English requirement for all the universities I was applying for, and had even scored top in my class!
